Let's Celebrate! Happy Father's Day and Happy 5 Months Landon!

I've been so BAD lately! I've definetely been getting behind on this little blog of mine. What have I been doing? Not a whole lot really. Just enjoying summer, playing with Landon, eating lots of frozen yogurt at Chilly Filmore's (strawberry with blackberries, strawberries, and brownie toppings is the BEST!), and watching lots of movies on the movie channels that we got for the summer. I've also become super addicted to pinterest.com. If you haven't been there yet, you should definetely check it out! It's so much fun.

So let's see what I need to catch you up on! Last Sunday we celebrated Mr. Hubby's very first Father's Day. It was pretty significant because it was also the anniversary of when my morning sickness started. (The next day I found out I was preggo). Can't believe we were getting to spend this Father's Day with our baby boy!
We had a great time giving Mr. Hub's his gifts. He even got teary eyed at his cards (one from Landon and one from myself. I did good!), and then he opened up his gifts (a shirt from Academy, a framed picture collage of Daddy and Landon pictures, and an Iphone running case). We also took him out to dinner at Clear Springs Restaurant. It was a great day. I love my hubby! He's an awesome daddy.

My guys on Father's Day!

My baby boy also turned 5 months old! That boy has been changing SO much and growing like a weed!!! Here are some things that Landon has learned to do this month!

#1 He finally found his thumb and how to suck it!
#2 He can grab toys!
#3 Loves to play with toys now!
#4 He tried spoon feeding for the first time (But we still haven't mastered that yet. He likes to blow all the food out of his mouth!)
#5 Landon tries to roll over. He really only managed to get on his side, but at least he's trying!
#6 Outgrew all of his 0-3 month outfits, and now a lot of his 3-6 months too *sniff*
#7 Likes to be rocked to sleep now
#8 Sticking out his tongue is one of his new favorite things
#9 Had his first time in the swimming pool
#10 Loves to be moving (at all times)
#11 Loves to be outside
#12 He discovered the T.V. His favorite shows are The Wiggles and Barney. He'll sit in his bouncy seat for 15-30 minutes just watching and talking to the t.v.
#13 Likes to suck on his burp rags and blankets
#14 Went to his very first Blueberry Festival, and he was sooooo good! He loves to people-watch.
#15 Loves to sit up on his own. He can even manage it by himself for several minutes before he topples over!

Landon loves to be naked! lol

I'm sure there are many, many other things that he's learned or likes to do! I'm very excited because we're going on our first family vacation on Tuesday! We're packing up the car, and headed to Galveston! I can't wait to document this little adventure. I'm wondering how Landon will do in the car, and what he'll think of the water. So FuN! I'll be posting pics of that very soon!

My little monkey

Here's cute pic of my baby today! My little monkey! Not a whole lot happened today... Landon and I finished up daddy's gifts for Father's Day. We also went and got some frozen yogurt at this new place in town. It is FAB-U-LOUS!!! We went yesterday too. You can add whatever toppings you want. Next time I'll have to remember to take a picture.

The rest of the day was spent playing with Landon, and going outside. Landon can be screaming and crying, but as soon as I take him outside to see our dog Hallie, he immediately stops, and watches her soooo intently. It's pretty funny. Too bad it's like 100 degrees outside! Pretty miserable, and it's only JUNE! Landon absolutely loves going outside. I have a feeling that when he gets older, he'll be spending most of his days out in the yard. Can't wait :)

My future gamer lol

I just had to share these pics that I took of Landon last night. Mr. Hubby was playing video games last night, and I decided it would be funny to see what Landon looked like with the controller. Talk about cute! He really looked like he was concentrating on the game, and just kept staring at it. Oh BOY! I have a feeling that I'll be seeing a lot more of this in the future. ;)

Yesterday, I was trying to feed him cereal, so I was pretending to be an airplane and was using my lips to make the sound. Well, apparently Landon thought that that was awesome, and decided that he was going to learn how to do it too! He tried and tried yesterday, but couldn't really do it. But today, durning cereal time, he decided to show me how he had mastered the skill. So everytime I put a spoonfull of cereal in his mouth, he blew it all out! He did this over and over and over. It was so funny, but now I'm kind of regretting showing him that! Oh well!

Landon is also starting to get really good at sitting up! He is starting to balance himself, and can stay sitting up on his own for at least 30 seconds before he topples on over. I am so excited!!! He also reaches for toys and grabs them and puts them in his mouth. It is truly amazing to see how much he's grown in these four months, and all of the new things that he can do!
Here are some not so great pictures I tried to snap of him sitting up.

I just love my baby boy SO very much. I love the way he snuggles into my shoulder when he's been crying. I love the way he gives me that huge grin everytime I look at him. I love the way he talks and squeals. I love how he gets so frustrated when he can't grab onto his toys. I love the fact that he always wants to go outside and watch the dog run around and play.  Everytime I look at him, I'm just amazed. He's the most wonderful baby that I could have ever asked for! Mommy loves you so much Landon Riley!

New Milestones and our FIRST anniversary!

I just have to say that I am SUCH a proud mama! Landon has been doing SO many new things!!! I have a lot to be proud of! Landon has been keeping me and my camera busy lately!

Last week, Landon had his first experience spoon-feeding! I don't think he was too sure about what was going on! He didn't seem to like being spoon fed the rice cereal, so I got him some bananas to try instead. The bananas went a little better. Landon likes his nanners!

So, since technically my pediatrition hasn't given me the okay for baby food yet, I mix a little bit into his rice cereal. I think it makes it a little more tasty. He's becoming a total pro! Look at how cute he is!!

Another big event happened in our little family, Mr. Hubby and my first wedding anniversary! I can NOT believe that it's been a year already, and what a crazy year it's been. We only just started to enjoy our newly married status when we found out the news that we were expecting our little angel! It was the best news, and we were so thrilled! So the majority of our first year married I spend preggo! Married, pregnant, and baby, all in one year, who would've thought. It's crazy how things turn out, and I have to say that I am one lucky girl. :)

So Mr. Hubs and I were able to spend an evening ALONE! Once you have a baby, it's crazy how that is something to be cherished. My two amazing co-workers Amy and Tamyla were gracious enough to agree to babysit our little angel for us. I love my co-workers!!!

Mr. Hubs and I spent our evening going to the Tyler Parade of Homes. Now most people give us weird looks when we tell them what we did for our anniversary, but it was really so much fun! The Parade of Homes gives you a list of 28 brand spankin new houses to go look out. This was SO down our alley. We both love looking at houses, and we got to see some incredible ones! Plus, we're hoping to build a house in the next year, so it was a great opportunity to get some new ideas.

The houses were absolutely incredible, and I loved getting to spend some quality time with my wonderful hubby. After we looked at the houses, we went to dinner, then headed back home. I'm so lucky to have my husband. He's the kindest, most thoughtful person in the world. I love him very much! Here's a look back at our special day... Saturday, June 12, 2010!

What an amazing day... can't wait for many, many more anniversaries to come!

Prayers for Mason

Yesterday my friend Sarah had her baby Mason at 34 weeks. She had lost almost all of her amniotic fluid and had to have an emergency c-section. Baby Mason weighs 3 lbs and 5 oz. He's such a precious little thing, and I'm praying for a quick and fast recovery for both Mason and Sarah. He had to be sent to Shreveport, LA to the NICU, since there really wasn't a NICU at the hospital in our town. My heart hurts for my friend. I can't imagine how hard it must be to have your baby inside of you one minute, and the next he's gone, whisked away, and sent to another town several hours away. I know that he'll be fine, and Landon and Mason will be playing together very soon in the months to come. Sarah and I had already decided that our baby boys would be best friends. I can't wait until they get to be together. But for now, I'm praying. Praying that little Mason recovers soon and is back home where he needs to be. I'm holding Landon a little bit tighter tonight. Makes me thankful for the blessings that I have in my life.

Memorial Day, Sweet Summertime, and Lazy days!

Okay, so I really need to get caught up with all of the happenings these past few weeks! Lots has been going on in the little life of Landon! My baby is changing so much it's crazy!

Memorial day was lots of fun, and Landon got to experience going to the pool for the first time! We headed out to a fish fry at my friend Sarah's mother-in law's house. I was also able to get Landon into his swim trunks and shades and into the pool! He looked SO adorable! He wasn't very sure about the water at first. I think that he was a little cold! But after awhile, he just sat quietly and enjoyed it. We had a great time with the Gaylers!

All ready for the pool!

I'm ready to party!

It's so cold mommy!

Maybe it's not so bad...
Nice and warm after my swim

Later that evening, Mr. Hubby and Landon were watching tv together. It was just about the cutest thing ever! I love watching my two guys spend some "man" time together. But I had to snap a picture of Landon staring at mommy. He's so sweet!

Landon has always loved bathtime! Like I said before, bathtime is Landon and daddy's bonding time! He let's him splash like crazy, and they have so much fun! Well I decided to sneak in on the fun and snap a few photos!

Mr. Hubby and I also took Landon on his very first nature walk! They just made some new trails in our town, and we decided to check them out!

Later on that week, Landon and I met up with my roommate from college and her baby Adley! They were in town for a few days, and we were so excited to get the babies together for their first playdate! They're about two months apart, and little Adley made Landon look HUGE!!! Doesn't he look adorable in that pink bouncy seat?!

Landon's recently become very interested in toys! I love it! I've been waiting for months for him to finally want to grab toys and shake rattles. He loves chewing on things, and everything of course goes right into his mouth. Here are a few tummy time pics. He was a lot happier when he was able to chew on something! It kept him entertained for a while before he started screaming.

We've been having so much fun lately! I'm out for summer, so Landon and I have been doing a whole lot of nothin' and it's fabulous!!!!! Landon's wanting some mommy time, so i'm off for now! To be continued...
