Butterflies in my Tummy!

I can’t believe it, Landon’s starting daycare tomorrow. I think I have the first day jitters for him! I’m pretty nervous about how he’s going to react. I’m thinking he’s going to absolutely FREAK out! Poor thing doesn’t even know what’s coming.

After being home with mommy and daddy all summer long, Landon’s become a little clingy. He’s started to become a little weary of strangers. Especially strangers who get in his face and talk to him!

Yesterday, we took him to the wedding that Mr. Hubby was in. He had done SO great the day before at the rehearsal, so I had pretty high hopes.

Well, after less than 5 minutes of being there, that little lip jutted out, and the tears started flowing. I actually had to get up in the middle of the wedding and take him away. It was an outdoor wedding, so he was all sweaty and crying. Just a mess!

Here’s my little guy after the wedding… see that little red face! Poor baby!

Things didn’t get much better at the reception either… He hated the D.J, he hated the clapping, and he was pretty much just miserable. Needless to say, I really didn’t get to enjoy much of the wedding OR the reception. Little turd! I love him anyway though.

This morning we went to IHOP and my little guy sat in a highchair seat for the first time! He was really enjoying the view, and I think he liked it way better than being in his car seat. He’s just growing up way too fast.

Well, I have butterflies in my tummy for tomorrow. Hope it all goes well…. wish us luck!

Clothes shopping and weddings

Yesterday I needed to pick out a new outfit to wear at a wedding this weekend. Well, Landon decided to help mommy pick out a skirt!

Such a sweetheart! I’d say he has really good “taste” hehe.

Today we went to a rehearsal and rehearsal dinner for one of Mr.Hubby’s friend’s weddings. Landon was such an ANGEL! After it was all over, so many people commented that they didn’t even realize that there was a baby there, and how good and cute he was. Oh, and in the middle of the rehearsal, Landon let out a huge burp when the music stopped. haha Love my little boy. He makes me so proud!
Hope he has as good a time at the wedding tomorrow!!!

Mmm mmm good!

Do you ever have those days where you feel like you get absolutely nothing accomplished?! Well ya’ll, today really felt like one of those days! I felt like I cleaned the kitchen about a dozen times, tried picking up the living room all day, but nothing ever got clean! Oh well, housework can always wait another day right?

Today my baby boy got another serving of carrots. Oh boy, he was really enjoying it too! He even said “mmm” “mmm” as he was eating. Talk about the cutest darn thing in the entire world!

mycutie

He also yelled “mama” several times. Now, he’s been doing this for a while now, but I never actually believed that it was a “word”. I just figured that his random sounds made the word mama. But I swear he was trying to get my attention and called out “mama” several times. He’s definitely a mama’s boy!

Trying to keep Landon entertained has been pretty difficult these days. It’s so hard because his attention span is super short! I find myself running out of things to keep him busy.. and then… HE WHINES! He is such a little whiner lately. It drives me pretty crazy. But then he throws out one of those Sweetie Landon smiles and all is forgiven!

Poor, poor Mr. Hubby had to get his wisdom teeth out today. And get this, he just got some numbing shots for the pain. I would have to be PUT. OUT! He survived though, poor thing.

OH and good news! Some people put an offer on our house! After a few counter offers, we are all set! Our closing date right now is Aug. 18th. I’m super excited, but a little sad. Part of me will miss my first house…so many important things happened here….

*It was our first renovation (It was HORRIBLE when we bought it!!!)

*It was the house that we came home to after we got married.

*The house I found out I was pregnant in.

*The house that we brought Landon home from the hospital in.

*The house that we’ve spent six wonderful months raising our new baby boy.

I’m so ready for the next stage in our lives, but saying goodbye to the place that holds all of those memories is a little sad too. I’ll always remember this house!

So, I saw this quote on pinterest the other day, and I just LOVED it. It’s so true!

Isn’t that such an amazing saying?! I need it for Landon’s room!

Six months and Spectacular!

Dear Landon,

I look at you, and I can hardly believe that its been six months… half a year since you were born! Every time I look at your sweet, chubby face… and listen to you’re adorable giggle, I can still barely believe that I have been given such an amazing gift! You are such a joy in my life, and I am so thankful for you little man!

SAM_0806

Every day is an adventure with you. I love watching all of your firsts! You absolutely love to suck on your thumb and putting absolutely everything in your mouth!

SAM_0799

You’ve started becoming so curious, and your rattles and many of your other toys are just not cutting it for you anymore! Mommy has had to get her hands on some bigger and better things to keep you entertained!

SAM_0854

You also love our dog Hallie! She’s started making you giggle when you watch her try to grab her toys and run around. It’s the sweetest thing!

SAM_0808

SAM_0838

You’ve also become very interested in everything that we drink. You stare up at us and try to grab our cups or bottles.

drinkydrink2

We’ve had some fun with solids lately! I tried to feed you solids a few times over the past few months, and it hasn’t gone so well. You don’t seem to really like the fruits that we’ve tried… bananas, sweet potatoes and applesauce. (You make yucky faces when you eat them!) and you hate rice cereal and oatmeal! So the other day we tried carrots, and you were all about them! Apparently your daddy liked carrots so much that he turned orange when he was a baby. I’m very proud of the way that you ate them! You’re doing so good.

SAM_0855

Such a messy little eater!

SAM_0857

SAM_0858

You’ve been doing a little better with your sleeping habits. You sometimes sleep through the night.. and well, some nights you don’t and you want to eat. I’m hoping that passes soon!

SAM_0800

Lately you’ve been super clingy to mommy and daddy. You don’t like being around strangers as much, (although sometimes you laugh and smile at people you don’t know). I’m really worried about bringing you to daycare next week, because I know it’s going to be scary for you to be away from mommy and daddy all day long!

You also hate loud noises and crowds. Those things upset you and make you poke your little lip out! The other day at Lowe’s, you poked your little lip out so far when a man stopped to look at you, he walked off laughing!

SAM_0740

You have mastered sitting up by yourself! I am one proud mommy!

SAM_0747

Look at those toes! You always point your big toe out! Not sure why.. but I think it’s pretty darn cute. You’re Mia says that you’re gonna have a hard time getting shoes on your feet with your toes like that! haha

You’re still sleeping in your nap nanny in our room. So bad… Mommy knows she needs to move you to your own room and into your crib, but it’s so hard! You’ve almost outgrown that nap nanny, and you get into some pretty funny positions in it. My favorite part of the day is waking up to your sweet smile!

SAM_0748

I love you so much little man. Half a year has passed, and I can’t wait to see what the other half has in store. You are just growing up too darn quick! I want to treasure every single moment of it. I love you Landon Riley, more than anything!!!! Happy 6 months!

Love,

Mommy

While daddy’s away, mommy and baby will play!

And play we did!

This weekend Jonathan had a bachelor party weekend to go to. That of course meant that I had baby duty. I was a little nervous, knowing that I wouldn’t get a break, but it wasn’t bad at all!

After we said our goodbye’s to daddy, we set up a play date with my friend Sarah and her baby Mason! Landon hadn’t gotten to see him since he’s been home from the hospital. Her husband was going fishing for the evening, so it was the perfect time to have a mommy and baby playdate!

Here’s Landon all ready to “play” with Mason.

SAM_0769

Mason was excited too!

SAM_0770

Then we let the boys see each other for the first time. It was pretty darn cute!

Landon was trying to figure him out!

SAM_0771

Best buddies already!

SAM_0772

SAM_0774

SAM_0776

How precious are they?! Mason is about 5 pounds now! A lot bigger than his 3 pounds 5 ounces when he was born. Landon looks like a chunk compared to him!

SAM_0781

SAM_0779

And in true mommy style, Sarah and I finally got ourselves and our boys out the door by about  8:30 pm to pick up some dinner. We didn’t eat till around 9. Eating is something that’s hard to get done with two little ones!

My silly baby decided to play hide-and-seek when we got back!

SAM_0785

On Saturday, we didn’t do a whole lot, just played and I got a few things for a classroom craft project I wanted to do when Landon fell asleep.

I had to do bath time with daddy gone. Landon looked at me like, “What are you doing here?! Where’s my daddy?” But we had fun.

bathfun

He loved splashing!

But you can tell he still missed his daddy!

bathlip

Look at that lip! haha

Then he got all nice and dried off!

This morning, Landon was all smiles! We had some playtime in his room. He’s doing SO great at sitting up all by himself now!!!

But he STILL hates tummy time…

Can you tell?! I’m beginning to worry that this child will never crawl!!

Yesterday, I got in some things for daycare. Landon will be starting daycare in a couple of weeks *deep breath*. I can’t believe its already almost here! Everything has to be labeled, so I bought some pretty neat things online!

These are labels that you can put around bottles, or sippy cups or whatever and use over and over! You personalize them with their name. TOO cool!

SAM_0791

SAM_0795

I’m such a fan of InchBug now! I also got some washable name labels for his clothes and blankets from a site called Name Bubbles.

SAM_0796

SAM_0797

How cute are those?! You can pick your own colors and different designs. I *Love* them!

Well Mr. Hubby should be home in the next few hours. I enjoyed spending some quality time with my littlest man, but I’m ready to have my hubby back! Landon and I will be so happy to see him and hug him! It’s just not the same around here without him!

New directions…

I feel like things are really starting to look up for us! Mr. Hubby and I have been trying to sell our house for over three months now. Three long months, and not one single offer. It’s been pretty disappointing, and not at all what we expected. The housing market is just blah right now, and moving to the next step in our lives was becoming less and less likely.

I really do like our house! It’s been great becoming homeowners, fixing up our place, and making it our own. But we have even bigger goals and dreams that we want to accomplish. Our ultimate goal is to build a house in the next year or so. It’s such an exciting thought! The problem is, our current house was keeping us from doing anything that we wanted to do.

Well Mr. Hubby and I decided that we would put our house up for rent, and see what that’s like. We want to be out of our house by August, so cross your fingers! Today is the first day that it’s been listed in the paper, and we’ve already had FIVE people who are interested. A few of them seemed really promising! I’m really excited!

Today we took our little man to the doctor. He’s still been super snotty, but actually seems to be feeling a little bit better. He was so adorable at the doctor’s office though. He was all smiles and laughing and giggling at everyone. Ahhhh he melts my heart!

He’s also grown from 24 in to 27in in a month! Woahhhh! What a growth spurt! Then in weight, he’s gone from 15 pounds to 17.9 pounds! I knew he was getting really heavy! He’s definitely been helping mommy work out her arms!

Here’s my sweet boy at the doctor’s office today!

My Sick Pooh-bear

My pooh bear has been feeling awful for the past week. It makes me so sad! Last week, I hadn't gotten to Landon's laundry, and he had run out of pj's to wear! The kiddo has been growing like a little weed, and he doesn't have many that fit him now! I always put him in pj's to go to bed because it gets pretty chilly in our house at night. Well, I tried to dress him warmly.. onesie, pants and socks, but my little booger kicked off his socks AND his blanket during the night. When he woke up, he was snotty and coughing, and I felt like an awful mommy!

I defintely have what I call the "Guilty-Mom Complex." You mommies out there probably know what I'm talking about! It's like, from the moment you find out you're expecting, you feel guilty about everything! Guilty about that coke you devoured while you're pregnant, or passing up the veggies for the two servings of chocolate cake, or as soon as baby comes... guilty about that gassy tummy, or stuffy nose. I feel so responsible for everything that happens to my little man. Maybe one day it'll get easier, but I really doubt it!

So anyway, Landon's been sniffing for the past 4 days, but that seemed to be about it. I figured he'd get over it pretty soon. Well yesterday, he added a cough and yucky throat to that too. He sounds really hoarse and can barely make those loud squeaky noises that he LOVES to make lately. (It's super cute! He sounds a little like two cats fighting when he talk to himself!) So now I feel bad about not taking him to the doctor sooner. He looks and sounds absolutely awful, and it breaks my heart! The worst thing in the world is to watch your baby suffer!!!! I've been giving him some medicine, and he's been a little better. We have a doctor's appt. scheduled for tomorrow morning, so I hope it's just a little cold and he'll be fine. I want my happy, healthy baby back ASAP!

My sick little man having some tummy time in the morning.

Lately, I've also been feeling my crafty side come out! I've found all of these amazing DIY projects on pinterest.com, and I've been obessed with doing some of them!!! I've also found some really great recipes that I've tried on there also. My first crafty project was a paper wreath, made from a foam wreath, and paper from a dollar store chapter book. It was SO. MUCH. FUN! I love getting those creative juices flowing and completing something!

So here is the picture that I found to make:

So cute right?! And here is my creation!

Pretty cool huh?! It was the perfect addition to my dining room. I had been looking for something to put there for FOREVER! I have soooo many more crafts that I'm ready to tackle! Can't wait!

Happy 4th of July!

It's the 4th of July already! This summer is officially FLYING by! Landon decided to celebrate the 4th by rolling over by himself for the first time today.. from his back to his tummy! I was so proud of my little boy! He just kinda layed there in shock for a while.

How did I get on my tummy mommy? I hate being on my tummy!

Later on today we went to visit my sister in law in Longview. We had a nice time visiting and eating. :) We also stopped by Toys R Us to look at the carseats. Landon's outgrowing his infant one, and I'm pretty sure we'll need to upgrade soon. There were SO many choices, I was confused, Mr. Hubby was confused, so we got a doorway jumper instead. (Landon didn't really know what to think of it, but I'm hoping he grows to enjoy it!

What is this mommy?!

Just hanging around...

Weeeeeee

Get.me.out.of.here!

I'm also soooo super happy for my friend Sarah. I had posted earlier about how she had baby Mason six weeks early, and he had to be sent to the NICU in Shreveport. Well, baby Mason was able to come home today!!! I'm very happy for my friend and her sweet family. I know they're having the best 4th of July EVER!

All in all, it was a great day! Happy 4th everyone!
